Heading directly to Side after landing at Antalya Airport (AYT) is the most straightforward way to start your holiday. The route covers 65 km along the well-maintained D400 highway, bringing you straight to your accommodation without unnecessary stops.
The drive from Antalya Airport to Side
Under normal traffic conditions, the 65 km journey takes approximately 60 minutes. The route leaves the airport area heading east, running parallel to the coast through Serik and past Manavgat before reaching the Side peninsula.
Travel times can vary depending on the time of day:
- Daytime and peak hours (11:00 to 17:00): Expect heavier traffic leaving the Antalya junction and passing through commercial stretches. The drive can take between 70 and 80 minutes during peak summer months.
- Early morning and late evening (20:00 to 07:00): Clear roads mean a smooth run, usually taking right on 50 to 60 minutes.
What to expect in Side
Side is famous for combining ancient history with modern resort comfort. The old town sits on a narrow peninsula, surrounded by ancient Roman city walls, a large 2nd-century theatre, and the iconic Temple of Apollo overlooking the sea.
To the west and east of the historic centre, long stretches of sandy beach host the region's resort hotels. The shallow waters make it a popular choice for families, while the harbour area in the old town offers a wide selection of seafront dining and shopping.
Arrival tips at Antalya Airport
- Meeting your driver: Once you collect your luggage and clear customs, step out into the arrivals hall. Your driver will be waiting holding a board clearly displaying your name.
- Flight delays: We monitor live flight data. If your flight arrives early or is delayed, your driver adjusts their schedule so someone is always waiting for you when you step outside.
- Child seats: If you are travelling with children, request child or booster seats during booking so they are properly fitted before your driver arrives at the terminal.
- Hotels in old town: Parts of Side's old town are pedestrianised during daytime hours. If your accommodation is inside the historic quarter, your driver will drop you as close to the entrance as vehicles are permitted to go.
